The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched an attack on militant positions operating undercover in a refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. As a result of the strike, the commander of the Islamic Jihad group was eliminated, according to the IDF Telegram channel.

The military targeted Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists operating in a command and control center embedded within the offices of the Civil Defense organization in the Nusseirat refugee camp.

The command center had been used by the terrorists for planning and executing an attack against IDF personnel.

"Among the terrorists eliminated in the strike was the Islamic Jihad terrorist Ahmed Bakr al-Lawh, who previously served as a Platoon commander in the Islamic Jihad's Central Camps Brigade," the statement said.

The Israeli army noted that numerous measures were taken before the strike to minimize the risk of harm to civilians, including the use of precision-guided munitions, accurate aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence gathering.

Elimination of Islamic terrorists by the Israel Defense Forces

Recently, Israeli air forces eliminated two Hamas terrorists involved in the invasion of militants from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory. One of them was the commander of a paragliding unit.

Earlier in December, the IDF eliminated terrorist Nidal Al-Najar, who led Hamas' air unit and air defense division in Gaza.

Israeli forces also previously struck Hezbollah targets in Lebanon after militants violated the ceasefire.
