Israel strikes chemical weapons plant in Syria – Reuters
Syrian state media reported that at least four civilians were killed in multiple Israeli strikes on rural areas of Hama in Syria on Sunday. Sources indicate that the strikes targeted a major military research center, according to Reuters.
A local health official quoted by Syria's state news agency said that 13 people also sustained injuries.
Two regional intelligence sources revealed that several strikes hit a large military research facility involved in chemical weapons production, located near Misyaf. It is believed that Iranian military experts, engaged in weapon production, were stationed at the site.
Syrian state media reported that the strikes ignited two fires.
It is worth noting that a similar strike on the Iranian embassy in Syria on April 1, which killed a senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and a senior general, led to a large-scale Iranian retaliation against Israeli territory using drones and cruise missile attacks.
