Israel prepares to respond to Iranian attack: CNN uncovers timing
Israel has prepared a response to an Iranian attack, and US diplomats expect it to happen before the US presidential election, according to CNN.
An anonymous source told the channel that Israel's plan to retaliate for the Iranian attack on October 1st is already in place.
CNN also reached out to the Israeli Ministry of Defense for comment.
Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have assured the US that the retaliatory strike against Iran will be limited to military targets, not oil or nuclear facilities, according to the source.
At the same time, American officials expect that Israel will retaliate against Iran before November 5th, the day of the US presidential election, according to the report.
Attack on Israel
It should be noted that tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have been escalating for months.
Last month, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a massive airstrike on Lebanese territory, which resulted in the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. In response, Iran promised retaliation, and in the early hours of October 2nd, Iran launched a massive attack on Israel.
