The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have eliminated a key Hezbollah terrorist, Hassan Muhammad Hammoudi. He was responsible for attacks on Israel.

"Earlier today (Saturday), the IDF struck and eliminated the terrorist Hassan Muhammad Hammoudi in the area of Kounine in southern Lebanon, who was responsible for Hezbollah's anti-tank missile array in the Bint Jbeil sector," the IDF said.

According to Israeli military sources, during the war, Hassan Muhammad Hammoudi led multiple anti-tank missile attacks on Israeli territory.

"The IDF will continue to operate to remove any threat posed to the State of Israel," the military stated.

Israel's war with Hezbollah

In the fall of 2023, after Hamas attacked Israel, Hezbollah joined the conflict. The group launched rocket and drone attacks across the country.

In response, the IDF launched a ground operation against militants along the southern Lebanon border. Later, the sides reached a temporary ceasefire agreement. However, fighting has periodically resumed.

Last month, the IDF targeted Hezbollah military facilities with missile strikes. Recently, it struck facilities in southern Lebanon where rocket launchers and weapons stockpiles were stored.
