Israel confirmed the Hezbollah attack late on August 3. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck targets in Lebanon in response, reports The Times of Israel.

The IDF reports that Hezbollah fired about 30 rockets from Lebanese territory. Israel notes that most of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system.

However, one rocket hit the community of Beit Hillel, and several others landed in open areas. According to the Israeli army, there were no casualties from the attack.

In response, Israeli Air Force jets struck the launch site used in the attack, located in the city of Marjayoun in southern Lebanon. Other Hezbollah infrastructure targets in the area were also attacked.

The IDF claims it also shelled the Odaisseh area with artillery to "remove a threat."
