On September 19, Israeli forces attacked Hezbollah targets in Lebanon using aircraft, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Telegram.

"The IDF is currently striking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon to degrade Hezbollah’s terrorist capabilities and infrastructure," the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated.

The military reminded that Hezbollah fighters have turned southern Lebanon into a combat zone, using civilian homes as weapons, digging tunnels beneath them, and using civilians as human shields.

"The IDF is operating to bring security to northern Israel in order to enable the return of residents to their homes, as well as to achieve of all of the war goals," the Israeli military command clarified.

Photos and videos showing the aftermath of the strikes in Lebanon have already been published online.

In another update from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), it was reported that earlier this week, two Hezbollah militants who had planted explosive devices on the border with Lebanon were eliminated. The strike on the terrorists was carried out using aircraft and artillery.

What preceded

The situation between Hezbollah and Israel escalated after Israeli forces launched their operation in the Gaza Strip. Since then, Hezbollah militants in Lebanon have regularly attacked Israel.

On September 18, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced the start of a new phase of the war, as the country shifts its focus northward towards Hezbollah.

Additionally, in recent days, Hezbollah members experienced mass pager explosions, resulting in injuries to hundreds of militants. Israel has not claimed responsibility for these incidents.
