Elimination of Islamic Jihad members
Israel has been systematically targeting the leadership of the radical group Islamic Jihad, which is recognized as a terrorist organization.
Last May, Israeli forces eliminated one of the group's leaders, IJ Aed Husseini, as well as the head of its rocket forces, Ali Ghaly, and his deputy.
In October 2023, media reported the killing of a senior leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in northern Gaza, Musa Nasir.
Additionally, in 2021, the Israel Defense Forces and the General Security Service eliminated the commander of the Northern Command of the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of Islamic Jihad, who was responsible for launching anti-tank rockets at Israeli cities.
Earlier reports indicated that in mid-May 2023, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the conclusion of a special operation against Islamic Jihad.
