Israel and Hamas agreed to extend the ceasefire
Israel and Hamas have agreed to extend the ceasefire for a hostage exchange, according to The Times of Israel.
The Israeli army said in a brief statement that in light of the efforts of the mediators to continue the process of releasing hostages and ensuring compliance with the ceasefire agreement, the process will be continued.
Hamas has claimed that the ceasefire has allegedly been extended for one day. It should be noted that the initial agreements regarding the ceasefire were set to expire this morning, on November 30.
As part of the deal, Hamas is supposed to release at least 10 hostages each additional day of the ceasefire.
In turn, Israel commits to releasing at least 30 Palestinian prisoners for every 10 Israeli hostages.
A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas
To recall, a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas began on November 24. At that time, the conflicting parties agreed to a four-day cessation of hostilities.
Subsequently, Israel and Hamas decided to extend the ceasefire for an additional two days on the condition that the militants release more hostages.
Yesterday, on November 29, it was reported that Israel is discussing with Hamas the extension of the ceasefire for another two days. To achieve this, the militants must fulfill Tel Aviv's conditions.
