Last night, on August 12, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian territory with strike drones and Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Ukraine's air defense forces destroyed most of the enemy drones, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

"On the night of August 12, the enemy attacked with 48 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of decoy drones from the directions of Bryansk, Millerovo, and Shatalovo in Russia, as well as with 4 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Russia's Voronezh and Bryansk regions," the Air Force stated.

The enemy tried to strike the Sumy and Donetsk regions with drones, while the missiles were aimed at Chernihiv region.

Anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the night attack.

According to preliminary data, as of 9:00 a.m. Kyiv time, air defense forces shot down or suppressed 36 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of decoy drones in the north and east of the country. In addition, according to the Air Force, there were confirmed hits by 12 drones and 3 missiles in 7 locations.

Night strike by Russia on August 12

On August 12, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles. The eastern and northern regions were primarily under fire, although air raid sirens sounded in most regions, including due to the ballistic missile threat.

Furthermore, on the night of August 12, the enemy launched a missile strike on the territory of one of the Ukrainian Ground Forces' training units. As of 9:00 a.m. Kyiv time, one person was killed and 11 were wounded with varying degrees of severity. Another 12 soldiers sought medical assistance with complaints of acoustic trauma and acute stress.
