Is Türkiye ready to sign a drone deal with Ukraine? Ambassador responds

At present, Türkiye is not opposed to signing a drone deal with Ukraine, but continues to seek the most favorable terms, as Ukrainian Ambassador to Türkiye Nariman Dzhelyal said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
Ankara is indeed considering this possibility, although it has not yet made a final decision.
Dzhelyal noted that Ukraine and Türkiye can carry out joint projects in third-country markets.
As is well known, Ankara is highly active in the Middle East, in East and Southeast Asia, particularly in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Pakistan, as well as in Africa.
“It has a very strong track record there. We are collaborating with Baykar on aircraft engines. And I am confident that we should not lose this market. They are developing their own aircraft engines,” Dzhelyal noted.
Nevertheless, this is not a matter for the immediate future.
The ambassador pointed out that an aircraft engine is a very complex product. This means that Kyiv and Ankara can work together for a long time and productively, and the scope of this cooperation can expand.
“Because, again, this is not just about business. Defense-industrial cooperation is an important part of the political and strategic agenda between our countries,” Dzhelyal concluded.
