Iran plans imminent ballistic strike on Israel - Media
Iran may attack Israel with ballistic missiles. The attack is scheduled for the near future, according to The Times of Israel and CNN.
“The United States has indications that Iran is preparing to imminently launch a ballistic missile attack against Israel,” CNN quotes an unnamed White House official as saying.
According to him, the US supports defensive preparations to protect Israel from attack. The official also added that if Iran strikes, there will be serious consequences for them.
The source emphasized that the US is prepared to do everything possible to help Israel intercept aerial targets, as was the case during the April attack from Iran.
An American official told reporters that the upcoming Iranian attack on Israel could be on a scale similar to that of April. At that time, Iran launched about 170 drones and over 120 ballistic missiles toward Israel in response to a strike on the Iranian diplomatic complex in Syria.
Almost all aerial targets were intercepted by Israel and its allies.
Reaction from the IDF
IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari confirmed that the US warned Israel about preparations for an Iranian missile strike.
He stated that, at this time, Iran has not launched any aerial targets toward Israel.
"We’ve dealt with this threat in the past, and we’ll deal with it now,” said the Rear Admiral.
He urged civilians to follow the guidelines of the Home Front Command.
Hagari emphasized that Iranian fire against Israel "will have consequences."
