The new iPhone 18 Pro models could become significantly more expensive due to a sharp rise in memory prices. Analysts predict that the base 256GB model will cost between $1,209 and $1,319 — 10-20% more than its predecessor, according to an analytical report by TrendForce.
Why are prices rising?
Since the release of the iPhone 17 Pro, Apple’s costs for purchasing memory chips have increased by 400%.
Even despite the company’s attempts to negotiate lower prices for other components, offsetting such a sharp increase has proven practically impossible.
Analysts note that even if Apple raises retail prices, the company will have to accept lower profit margins and absorb some of the additional costs in order to maintain demand among buyers.
iPhone 18 Pro technical upgrades
Despite the higher price, the tech giant’s flagship smartphones will receive a number of significant hardware upgrades.
What exactly?
New processor: Apple A20 Pro chipset with an improved cooling system.
Cameras: a main camera with a 48-megapixel sensor and variable aperture, a 48-megapixel ultrawide module, and a 24-megapixel front-facing camera.
Memory and display: 12GB of RAM, 256GB to 2TB of storage, and an LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Battery: increased battery capacity for longer battery life.

First foldable iPhone Ultra: Is the expected price justified?
Analysts paid particular attention to an entirely new model — the foldable iPhone Ultra.
The base price of this model is expected to range from $2,099 to $2,299. Meanwhile, the most expensive configuration with 2TB of storage could surpass the $3,000 mark.
At the same time, according to sources, the foldable model will not have a separate 48-megapixel telephoto lens.
