Russian occupants attacked the Sumy region with cluster bombs for the first time. The invaders mined two villages in the Shostka district from the air, according to Volodymyr Artiukh, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

The situation is escalating, in particular, since January 1, the number of strikes with certain weapons, such as kamikaze drones and attack drones, has increased significantly.

"We are particularly concerned about the increased use of tactical aircraft for firing with guided bombs. By the way, yesterday, for the first time, cluster bombs were used on the territory of the Sumy region," the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration notes.

According to Artiukh, the Russian occupants mined two settlements in the Shostka district - Stara Huta and Marchykhyna Buda - from the air.

"Today the Defense Forces are working on demining," he states.

The village of Stara Huta is located on the banks of the Vulychka River. The village is surrounded by a large forest. The border with Russia is 3 km away. In turn, the village of Marchykhyna Buda is located less than 3 km from the border with Russia.
