If US withdraws from NATO, world can lose Poland, Baltics, other countries - Zelenskyy
If the US withdraws from NATO, the world will lose many countries that rely on America and the North Atlantic Alliance, including Poland and the Baltic states, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The response from the head of state came when asked whether he fears Donald Trump coming to the US presidency.
'I don't know who will be the president of the US. Well, I hope the US will never leave NATO, otherwise the world will lose a lot of countries. Because of such people like Putin... we will lose small countries which count on America and NATO, American leadership. We will lose the Baltic countries, Poland, and other countries which are very sensitive to this topic. And I hope the US will never seriously think to withdraw from NATO. I think so. But it's not my decision, I'm just sharing with you my mind,' said the president during an interview at the President's Fund and the Ronald Reagan Institute.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that if US citizens vote for Trump, he hopes that the new American leader's policies towards Ukraine will not change.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said he doesn't know if Trump can end the war in one day. He noted they had good meetings, but they didn't go through a war together. The president emphasized that it's during war that one can understand if you can rely on someone.
Earlier, it was reported that Putin wanted to occupy Kharkiv while there was a delay in a large package of military aid to Ukraine from the US.
