How many Ukrainian military personnel will Czechia train this year
Czechia plans to train another 1,700 Ukrainian defenders this year as part of its assistance to Ukraine in the war with Russia, stated Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala during a briefing with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
“We are talking here about long-term training of the Ukrainian military. This year it will be 1700 people. The total number of people who have undergone training with us is 6,000,” the Czech Prime Minister said.
According to him, such assistance is evidence of successful cooperation between Ukraine and Czechia.
Fiala also said that Ukraine and Czechia will sign a bilateral security agreement. This will take place in London on Thursday, July 18, during the summit of the European Political Community.
What preceded it
Earlier, Czech Defense Minister Jana Černohová said that in 2023, 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers were trained in Czechia. She said that it was planned to organize training for the same number of soldiers in 2024.
According to her, Czechia can train a maximum of 800 soldiers from Ukraine during one shift.
