Houthis struck Pinocchio container ship in Red Sea
The container ship Pinocchio came under fire from the Houthis in the Red Sea, according to Reuters.
A military representative of the Houthis stated early Tuesday morning on television that the group had launched a missile strike on the container ship Pinocchio in the Red Sea. They described the vessel as the American ship Pinocchio.
According to publicly available databases, Pinocchio is a Liberian-flagged container ship owned by Singapore-registered company OM-MAR 5 INC.
Attacks by the Houthis on ships in the Red Sea
Since November 2023, Yemen's Houthis have been regularly attacking commercial ships in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea using drones, cruise, and ballistic missiles. The first attacks began immediately after the start of the war between Israel and Hamas.
