House from movie 'Home Alone 2' is for sale: How it looks like now
The house in New York that gained notoriety in the iconic comedy Home Alone 2: Lost in New York has been put up for sale for $6.7 million, according to Realtor.
The house from the iconic film Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is currently recognized by every fan despite never showcasing its interior in the movie. The interior scenes were shot on a soundstage, while the facade and the house number were used in the film.
"They just used the facade and house number in the movie. The interiors were shot on a set. Despite this, every holiday season, fans of the film take pictures in front of the house," says real estate agent Nicole Kats.
The 1,140 square meter townhouse on the Upper West Side has four bedrooms and bathrooms each. Built in the 1880s, the building has undergone numerous renovations over the years, with significant repairs completed approximately 10-15 years ago, according to Kats.
The four-story brownstone, designed by Martin V.B. Ferdon, still retains many details from that era, including grand staircases, intricate molding, and original chandeliers.
"In New York City, these homes have to work with the Landmarks Preservation Commission to preserve their facade and historic look," notes Kats.
Meanwhile, the interior of the house features a transitional style that combines traditional and contemporary design elements.

It is known that this house was last sold in 2009, then fetching $4.7 million.
Located just steps away from Central Park, the 19th-century townhouse features high ceilings, walnut floors, and a cozy living room with a fireplace. There is also a landscaped area with a wooden terrace in the inner courtyard.
"This street is one of the most beautiful townhouse streets, with brownstones on either side of the street," adds the real estate agent.

The essence of this house feels like home. It is just such a great, warm, high-end property. I could see a family buying it, who wants to have a home in New York City, where they can raise their kids, entertain a lot, and have a place where everyone goes for the holidays. It’s the perfect home for entertaining," adds Kats.
