House destroyed, market on fire in Zaporizhzhia: Women killed, child among injured

Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with drones overnight on September 26. The attack caused destruction in the city and killed two people, according to Ivan Fedorov, co-chair of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Defense Council, and Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration head Mykhailo Semikin.
This morning, Fedorov reported that Russian forces had launched a drone attack on the city.
"Russian drone struck a private house in one of the city's districts. A fire broke out. Two people may be trapped under the rubble. A residential building and a non-residential building were also damaged," the statement said.
However, it was later established that four people were inside the destroyed house. The bodies of two women were pulled from the rubble with no signs of life, while a 4-year-old boy and a 45-year-old man were injured.

Semikin also confirmed the information and expressed his condolences.
"Today, we lost two women in Zaporizhzhia - Lyudmyla and Vasylina. They were killed under the rubble of a house after a Russian strike. The Russians took a wife and mother away from a man, and a mother and grandmother away from his three-year-old son Artem. This cannot be brought back. It cannot be undone. It cannot be compensated for. My sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Lyudmyla and Vasylina," the statement said.

As a reminder, Russian forces also attacked Zaporizhzhia on the morning of September 25, setting fire to a medical facility. One person sustained minor injuries.
