Tragedy in Hollywood: Rob Reiner's son taken into custody over parents' murder

Nick Reiner was taken into custody in the US, charged with murdering his parents, renowned director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer Reiner, according to People.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Nick Reiner was taken into custody, and his bail was set at $4 million.
During a separate press conference on Monday morning, Los Angeles Police Chief James McDonnell stated that Nick has been formally charged with murder.

For context, Rob and Michelle Reiner were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, December 14.
Earlier, sources reported that the couple's daughter, Romi Reiner, discovered their bodies.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, emergency services were called to the residence around 3:30 p.m. (15:30 Kyiv time) to provide medical assistance.
Upon arrival, the deaths of two individuals were confirmed; they were later identified as Rob and Michelle Reiner.

American media also reported that after the tragedy, Nick Reiner was questioned by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Homicide and Robbery Division.
Rob Reiner and Michelle Singer Reiner have been married since 1989.
They met while working on the film When Harry Met Sally, which was released that same year. The couple had three children, including Nick Reiner.
Media outlets note that Nick Reiner had previously spoken publicly about his struggles with addiction and periods of homelessness that began in his teenage years.
