In Hollywood, everyone smiles for the cameras. But as soon as the lights go off, the tantrums, scandals, and grudges begin. Some stars have become so convinced of their own uniqueness that even colleagues avoid working with them.

RBC-Ukraine has compiled a full list of celebrities whose difficult personalities are discussed in Hollywood without much enthusiasm.

Katherine Heigl

The actress openly criticized scripts and crew work, which made her reputation extremely controversial. In Hollywood, public complaints are frowned upon, especially when they sound like accusations.

Her principles are seen by some as honesty and by others as toxicity.

Gwyneth Paltrow

After winning an Oscar for Best Actress early in her career for Shakespeare in Love, the actress gradually developed an image of someone living in her own luxurious universe.

Her right way to live philosophy comes at a high cost, literally.

The issue isn’t wealth, but tone. Many feel that Paltrow genuinely believes her experiences are heavier, deeper, and more significant than those of others.

It’s this demonstrative aloofness that irritates the industry far more than any of her diet tips.

Kanye West

Kanye is a genre of his own. He isn’t just an artist, but someone who has spent years publicly proclaiming his genius. His confidence in his historical mission has become part of his brand.

Controversial stage appearances, conflicts with colleagues, and loud declarations all of it comes across as a performance in which he plays the starring role, and only he matters.

Mariah Carey

Mariah has long lived in diva mode. Special demands, careful communication, and a love for a flawless image all contribute to the persona of a woman unwilling to simplify herself for anyone else’s comfort.

Her coldness toward colleagues and her ability to distance herself even in public moments have become legendary.

Perhaps it’s a defense mechanism. Or perhaps it’s the belief that her status allows her more than others.

Bradley Cooper

It’s hard to call him a scandalous figure, but stories about his aloofness have surfaced more than once.

Journalists recall terse interviews, fans note moments of being ignored, and former partners mention a difficult personality.

Cooper doesn’t openly display his emotions, yet many have felt a distance that comes across not as restraint, but as cold superiority.

Catherine Zeta-Jones

The actress has made it clear more than once that she has no intention of apologizing for her wealth, and that’s honest.

However, when a hint of superiority regarding ordinary life appears in public statements, the public reaction is predictable.

It’s as if she openly says: yes, I live differently. And I like it.

Will Smith

His charisma is undeniable. But along with it comes a history of conflicts with colleagues. Some actors have hinted directly: working with him means agreeing to his rules.

When you’ve been at the top for years, it’s easy to start seeing yourself as the central element of any project.

Jennifer Lopez

She has built an empire around her own name. However, numerous stories about communicating through assistants and avoiding direct contact have created the image of someone who has built a solid wall around herself.

Her professionalism is acknowledged by everyone. But warmth from her is increasingly rare.

Jay-Z

He thinks on a corporate scale and acts accordingly. If something doesn’t fit his plan, it simply disappears from his schedule.

Colleagues recall instances when agreements were ignored without explanation. In a world where one’s word is reputation, such behavior comes across as a display of power.

Beyoncé

She is flawless in public. But behind the scenes, she is often described as someone who cannot tolerate chaos or weakness.

Her perfectionism borders on strictness. She knows exactly who is at the center of the stage, and is not inclined to share that space.

Miles Teller

Early in his career, the actor already emphasized his uniqueness and feeling of being underestimated. His interviews sometimes sounded as if he had long been a legend, and others just hadn’t realized it yet.

Confidence is good, but when it turns into devaluing others, the industry takes note.

James Cameron

His films are as grand as his demands. Cameron is known for being blunt and intolerant of objections. For him, the result matters more than comfort.

Some call it iron discipline; others, authoritarianism.

Justin Bieber

Fame came too early, and for a time, the artist behaved as if everything was allowed. Scandals, provocations, and a showy disregard for norms became part of his public image.

Over the years, he has matured, but the industry still remembers the period when his star syndrome was in full swing.
