President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that during talks with the President of the US, Donald Trump, special attention was given to Ukraine’s economic recovery and the creation of jobs, Zelenskyy said this while responding to journalists’ questions.

According to Zelenskyy, the recovery plan covers the entire territory of Ukraine and involves the preparation of several strategic documents combined into the so-called Prosperity Package – a package for the country’s economic recovery.

Focus on jobs and the return of Ukrainians

Zelenskyy emphasized that for Donald Trump, the key priority is creating jobs in Ukraine. The parties discussed the average wages of Ukrainians and the possibilities for significantly increasing them.

"We devoted a lot of attention to this, and President Trump is focused on it. He believes this is task number one – to ensure there are jobs in Ukraine," Zelenskyy said.

American and European business in Ukraine

He noted that American and European companies are considering entering the Ukrainian market under special conditions, which are expected to be formalized through intergovernmental agreements between Ukraine, the US, and European partners.

"I can’t say this will happen immediately after the war ends, but the fact that Americans are thinking about it is true. They want American and European businesses to come to Ukraine," the president said.

Ukraine needs substantial funding at the start of recovery

The president emphasized that, in the initial stage, Ukraine requires significant financial resources to kick-start recovery, create jobs, and ensure competitive salaries.

According to him, this should serve as an incentive for Ukrainians to return and for the full restoration of life in the country.

"This needs to be a serious amount of money so that people return to these jobs and salaries," Zelenskyy said.
