Helicopter crashes off California coast during festival, several injured

A helicopter crashed right in front of vacationers on Huntington Beach in California. The aircraft crashed into palm trees near the coast after losing control, according to The Guardian.
The helicopter, which was flying over the popular Southern California beach, suddenly began to lose control, eventually losing altitude and crashing into a row of palm trees in front of beachgoers.
Videos posted online show the aircraft beginning to spin over Huntington Beach and then falling to the edge of the beach, where it became stuck between palm trees and stairs near the Pacific Coast Highway.
The Huntington Beach Fire Department said five people, including two who were in the helicopter, were taken to the hospital and “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the crash on Saturday.
Three people were injured on the street. Details of their injuries are not yet known. The cause of the accident was not immediately disclosed.
The department said the helicopter was associated with the annual Cars N Copters charity event held today.
Earlier this week, a REACH Air Medical helicopter crashed on a highway in California. It happened near Sacramento after taking off from the University Medical Center in Davis.
