Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has stated that she may once again run in the 2028 presidential election, while also criticizing current President Donald Trump, according to the BBC.

During an interview with the outlet, Kamala Harris was asked whether she could become the first female president of the United States.

"Possibly," she replied briefly.

The former vice president added that she has not yet made a final decision but emphasized that she has no plans to end her political career.

"I am not done," the former vice-president said. "I have lived my entire career as a life of service, and it's in my bones."

She also dismissed current polling data showing that Americans favor other potential Democratic candidates, including actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

"If I listened to polls I would have not run for my first office, or my second office - and I certainly wouldn't be sitting here," she noted.

In the same interview, Harris said her warnings about Donald Trump had proven true, calling him a “tyrant” and accusing him of politicizing the Department of Justice.

"He said he would weaponise the Department of Justice - and he has done exactly that," Harris stressed.

As an example, she pointed to the recent suspension of comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s show by ABC after his comments about the political views of a man accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Disney, which owns ABC, later said the move aimed to "avoid further escalation" and, after talks, agreed to return the show to air.

Harris lost to Donald Trump in the 2024 US presidential election. Some Democrats later criticized her campaign for failing to focus sufficiently on economic issues.

Recently, Trump revoked Secret Service protection for Harris, drawing sharp backlash from Democratic lawmakers.

Earlier this year, in August 2025, Harris announced a temporary pause from politics, saying she "didn’t want to return to a broken system."
