Harris campaign raises $540 million since Biden's exit
US Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign raised $82 million at the Democratic convention in Chicago last week. The total funds have reached $540 million since President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race, according to Bloomberg.
According to a memo from campaign chief Jen O'Malley Dillon, a record amount was raised in the past month, and following Harris’s speech at the convention, the campaign set an hourly record for donations.
Notably, women stand out among the donors, making up two-thirds of the total number of first-time contributors.
Volunteers have already signed up for 200,000 shifts to support the campaign.
Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, plan a tour of Georgia this week, while former President Donald Trump will give a speech on the economy and hold events in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
