The Hamas militant group has reportedly agreed to hand over its weapons to a "Palestinian-Egyptian body under international supervision," reports The Times of Israel.

A Hamas source told the Saudi TV channel Al-Arabiya about the decision, though no other outlet has confirmed the information.

The Times of Israel also said the US allegedly gave Hamas guarantees that Israel would not resume the war and would withdraw the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from the Gaza Strip.

Hamas fighters have reportedly begun collecting the bodies of killed hostages in Gaza and are demanding that Israel suspend airstrikes to complete the work.

Sources said transporting the bodies will take time and that "there is American flexibility on this matter."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier said Hamas has only a few days left to negotiate over the hostages.

After that, he said, "Hamas will be disarmed, and the Gaza Strip will be demilitarized." Netanyahu stressed this would happen either through diplomacy under the Trump plan or by military means from Israel.

On Saturday, October 4, the Israel Defense Forces were ordered to halt their advance on Gaza City following a demand from US President Donald Trump.

Trump also posted a message urging Hamas to "move quickly," warning that otherwise "all bets will be off."

Earlier on Friday, he said he was giving Hamas militants a final chance to respond to his peace plan for the Gaza Strip.

RBC-Ukraine also reported that Trump had threatened Hamas with "complete obliteration" if it rejected the proposed peace plan.
