Oleksii Neizhpapa, Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, has hinted at the possibility of a new attack by Ukrainian forces on the Kerch Bridge. Previous Ukrainian strikes have weakened Russia’s logistics, reports The Guardian.

In an interview with the British media, Vice Admiral Neizhpapa expressed optimism that Ukraine’s military would be able to destroy the Kerch Bridge, which Russia illegally built to connect its territory with occupied Crimea.

“The Russians understand we are actively discussing a third operation. There is a saying: ‘God loves a trinity,’” he said with a smile.

According to him, Russian forces can no longer transport heavy railcars across the bridge after two previous Ukrainian strikes damaged both the road and railway structures.

Ukrainian attacks on the Kerch Bridge

In October 2022, Ukraine successfully attacked the Kerch Bridge using a truck loaded with explosives. The blast caused two sections of the roadway to collapse and damaged the railway.

The second attack took place in July 2023, when Ukrainian Sea Baby naval drones struck the bridge. The strike caused significant damage to the road surface and disrupted Russian military supply routes.

These operations were aimed at disrupting the supply of military equipment and ammunition to Russian troops stationed in Crimea.

In July last year, Neizhpapa stated that the Kerch Bridge must be destroyed to liberate Crimea. According to him, the structure remains a supply route for Russian forces, though not at the same capacity as before the attacks.
