Pinterest has released its annual Pinterest Predicts analytical report, identifying the key global trends for 2026.
According to the study, in the coming years, consumers will look for comfort, authenticity, and restrained optimism amid overload from information and social media.
Pinterest reports that trends are now evolving 4.4 times faster than they did seven years ago.
In 2026, users will try to overcome trend fatigue by turning to personal meaning, nostalgia, and self-expression.
At the same time, 55% of respondents worldwide named comfort as their main emotional need in daily life, and 42% said they engage only in trends that reflect their personality.
Pinterest’s head of global research and trends, Sydney Stanback, explained that in 2026, people will move away from hyperstimulation, not because of mass trends but because of individuality.
Instead of social comparison and FOMO, Pinterest trends preserve personal identity. In 2026, people will adapt them to their own style without sacrificing self-expression, Stanback said.
Nostalgia, comfort, and the soft past
Pinterest notes a rapid rise in nostalgic trends. Nearly 52% of respondents rewatch classic films and series, while about 40% are returning to traditional comfort foods.
This demand is forming a new direction: a return to the past with a modern interpretation.
Among the key trends:
Gimme Gummy – gummy aesthetics, jelly-like cosmetics, 3D accessories, and ASMR textures.

FunHaus — a circus-inspired interior style featuring bold stripes and theatrical shapes.
Throwback Kid — the revival of toys from the 1960s to the 2000s and vintage children’s clothing.
Pen Pals — the return of handwritten letters as a form of creative communication.

In 2026, trends will no longer be seen as mandatory to follow. Pinterest notes a shift from mass copying to individually curated style.
