Ukraine will receive long-range HX-2 strike drones from Germany, nicknamed mini-Taurus. These drones are considered an equivalent to Russia’s Lancet drones, according to Defense Express.

HX-2 drones, produced by the German company Helsing, are designed to destroy enemy armored vehicles, artillery, and other targets. They have a maximum range of 100 kilometers.

Defense Express notes that the drone weighs 12 kilograms, with the warhead weighing several kilograms. The mini-Taurus can be equipped with a cumulative charge and other payloads.

The HX-2's maximum speed is 220 kilometers per hour. It is built using a classic design with X-shaped wings and tail surfaces. Unlike similar drones, it is equipped with four electric motors instead of one.

A key feature of the mini-Taurus is its advanced combat artificial intelligence, which allows the drone to hit targets even in the presence of active electronic warfare systems.

The HX-2 can automatically detect, recognize, and lock onto targets, but a human operator must authorize the strike. Additionally, swarm attacks are also possible because the drones are integrated into the Altra system.

It is worth noting that Ukraine is set to receive a total of 4,000 of these drones.

Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz continues to oppose supplying Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles capable of hitting targets up to 500 kilometers away.

According to the German leader, such deliveries would be "playing Russian roulette with Germany's security."
