Serial production of several Ukrainian-designed drone models has begun in Germany. The lineup includes both reconnaissance and strike UAVs, according to NTV.

Representatives of Ukrainian drone manufacturer Frontline Robotics and German defense company Quantum Systems said at the German-Ukrainian Business Forum in Berlin that the production is being carried out under contracts for Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.

Matthias Lenz, head of the joint venture Quantum Frontline Industries, said the company plans to produce tens of thousands of drones per year.

According to him, the production lineup includes the Linsa drone, which has proven effective on the battlefield; the Zoom reconnaissance drone; as well as the remotely operated Buria machine gun and grenade launcher system.

What is known about the drones

The Ukrainian company Frontline has presented the Zoom reconnaissance drone, which is intended to replace Chinese commercial UAVs.

The drone can hover at an altitude of 200 meters with a maximum deviation of 5 meters, even in wind speeds exceeding 10 m/s. It provides up to 40 minutes of flight time and has a tactical range of up to 15 kilometers.

Meanwhile, the Linsa bomber drone is designed to operate from cover and is equipped with a thermal imaging camera. The copter has an operational range of 10 kilometers and can carry munitions weighing up to 2 kilograms. Flight time without a payload is approximately 40 minutes, while with a payload it is 20–25 minutes.

Ukraine producing drones with partners

It should be recalled that earlier it became known that the UK will sign an agreement with Ukraine on the joint development and production of advanced military equipment. The deal предусматриes technology sharing that will strengthen the national security of both countries.

Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said that Ukraine, together with the United States, has begun producing interceptor drones capable of countering Russian strike UAVs.

In addition, Ukraine and Norway will jointly manufacture domestically developed drones. The relevant document has been signed by the defense ministers of both countries.
