After a drone attack in Russia’s Orenburg region, one of Gazprom’s plants halted gas intake from Kazakhstan, reports Astra.

According to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy, Gazprom confirmed an emergency at the Orenburg gas processing plant on the night of October 19, 2025.

The plant temporarily stopped receiving raw gas from the Karachaganak field.

“Information about the nature of the damage and the timing of the plant’s restoration has not yet been provided by the Russian side,” the ministry stated.

The gas supply in Kazakhstan has not been disrupted.

As a result of the attack, one of the plant’s workshops caught fire, said regional governor Yevgeny Solntsev. According to eyewitness footage, the fire was extinguished by morning.

Attacks on Russia

On the night of October 19, 2025, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck strategic facilities in Russia involved in meeting the needs of the armed forces.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, among the targeted sites were the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery in the Samara region and the Orenburg gas processing plant.
