The United Kingdom is proposing to develop a joint peace plan for Ukraine together with the United States, following the model of US President Donald Trump’s peace proposal for the Gaza Strip, Axios reports.

According to Axios, during a phone call between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer suggested developing a joint peace plan for Ukraine together with the United States, modeled on Donald Trump’s 20-point plan for the Gaza Strip.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte reportedly proposed holding an urgent coordination call among national security advisers from European countries over the weekend.

Zelenskyy–Trump meeting

On October 17, Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump at the White House. Following their talks, Trump held a phone call with several European leaders and later reiterated his view that the war in Ukraine should end along the current front line.

Axios sources described the meeting as tough, noting that Trump refused to approve the transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
