Gas supply cut off in Kupiansk due to damaged pipeline
A gas pipeline has been damaged as a result of hostilities in the Kharkiv region. Gas supply to the city of Kupiansk has been cut off, leaving approximately 4,500 people without gas, according to the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
Additionally, power lines in the Kharkiv region have been damaged due to Russian shelling, resulting in power outage for 11,000 consumers in the city of Vovchansk and adjacent villages.
"Work to restore gas and electricity supply is underway," the statement said.
Fighting in the Kupiansk direction
In recent weeks, the Russian army has been attempting to advance in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction. According to Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar, the enemy has been frequently shelling Kupiansk.
On August 20, Russian forces shelled residential buildings in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, resulting in ten people injured.
Mandatory evacuation of minors from settlements located near the combat zone has been announced in the Kupiansk district.
