Gas stations in Russia's Lipetsk region introduce unusual gasoline sales scheme
Authorities in Russia’s Lipetsk region are once again introducing an "odd-even" system at gas stations. The reason is massive queues caused by a gasoline shortage, according to Lipetsk Region Governor Igor Artamonov.

Artamonov wrote that it is clear that this will not increase the daily fuel limits available for sale at gas stations.
He hopes the measure will help organize the queues and distribute the flow of cars at gas stations more evenly.
The temporary system will take effect on August 13 at gas stations operated by:
- Gazprom;
- Lukoil;
- Teboil;
- Rosneft.
Unusual gas station refueling scheme
On August 13, vehicles whose first digit is odd — 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 — will be allowed to refuel.
On August 14, vehicles with an even first digit — 2, 4, 6, 8 or 0 — will be allowed to refuel.
On August 15, the odd-numbered vehicles will be allowed to refuel again.
"At the same time, a limit of no more than 30 liters of gasoline per vehicle is being introduced at Gazprom, Lukoil, Teboil and Rosneft gas stations. Diesel fuel is not subject to restrictions. The region code does not matter," Artamonov said.
The "odd-even" system will not apply on the M-4, R-119 and A-133 highways.
Russians hope this will be a temporary measure. Authorities have promised to increase fuel supplies to the Lipetsk region.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that on July 11, restrictions on gasoline purchases were extended to three more Russian regions. Ukraine’s successful strikes on local oil refineries have contributed significantly to this situation.
Huge queues have also formed at gas stations in Russia’s Yelets district of the Lipetsk region. This is happening amid statements by local authorities that the situation is stabilizing.
It also became known that Russia is turning to "gray" schemes for processing petroleum products amid successful Ukrainian strikes on oil refineries and an acute fuel shortage.
