Samsung is preparing for the premiere of its new flagship – the Galaxy S25 Edge. The smartphone is expected to be the thinnest in the lineup, while still delivering powerful performance and top-tier specifications. The company has already announced the official launch date and the price of the new device, according to the online edition Android Authority, which covers the world of Android and technology.
The website Financial News reports that the Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone will be unveiled on May 13 during a special Unpacked event. The publication also notes that the device will be released on May 23 in China and South Korea, followed by a global launch, including the US, on May 30.
According to the report, the starting price for the phone will be $1,209 for the 256 GB model, while the 512 GB version will cost approximately $1,339. The source also indicates that there will be no 1 TB variant available.
According to rumors, the Galaxy S25 Edge will have a thickness of just 5.84 mm, making it exceptionally slim, yet it will feature a 6.7-inch display. Other expected specifications include a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a battery capacity of either 3,900 or 4,000 mAh, and a dual-camera setup with 200 MP and 50 MP sensors.
Expected specifications of the Galaxy S25 Edge
The Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone is built on the eight-core Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, based on the Oryon architecture. Its clock speed reaches 4.46 GHz, offering one of the highest performance levels among modern flagships.
Unlike other models in the S25 series, the Edge version comes with only two main cameras. According to available information, the device features a primary 200 MP sensor and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera.
While official data on the body thickness has not yet been released, leaks suggest an impressively slim profile of just 5.8 mm. This compactness has been achieved by reducing the battery capacity to 3,900 mAh.
The new device will be available in three color options: Titanium Jet Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Icy Blue - the same as the S25 Ultra. The possibility of additional exclusive colors being sold on Samsung’s official website remains uncertain.
