Former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has made a bold statement about his intention to fight Oleksandr Usyk for a third time. According to the Briton, he has already received approval from the Ukrainian's side to stage the trilogy next year.

Fury about third fight with Usyk

The British heavyweight makes no secret of his ambition to settle his rivalry with the Ukrainian once and for all. Usyk won the first two fights. In May 2024, the Ukrainian won by split decision, and in December of the same year, he sealed the victory with a unanimous decision. Now Fury wants a rematch and says he has already discussed it with Usyk.

He explained that the third fight could take place as early as the first quarter of 2027 at the legendary Madison Square Garden arena in New York.

"I wanna punch this bum Joshua into smithereens as a warm-up, and then I want a trilogy with the 'rabbit' Usyk. I spoke to Alex about it, and he's up for it next year—first quarter of next year—in what will be the icing on the cake of a long, luxurious career would be Joshua in Cardiff, then Usyk at Madison Square Garden," Fury said.

Joshua fight comes first

However, before thinking about a third meeting with Usyk, Tyson must get past another major rival. On December 11, the long-awaited Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight will take place at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, UK. The WBA Super heavyweight title will be on the line.

Meanwhile, Oleksandr Usyk plans to face American boxer Deontay Wilder next in March 2027 in the United States, though the fight has not yet been officially confirmed.
