Frontline tensions flare, but dynamic shifts reported by Ukrainian Armed Forces
Over the past week, tensions have escalated on three fronts in Ukraine - near Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Novopavlivka. All three are in the Donetsk region, according to the spokesperson for the operational strategic grouping of troops Khortytsia, Nazar Voloshyn.
"The situation is as follows - the hottest directions are Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Novopavlivka. The situation has relatively escalated over the past week. Heavy fighting continues, but the situation is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," he said.
According to the spokesperson, the enemy is attempting to seize strategic initiative, break through the front line, and has concentrated its efforts precisely on these three directions, creating a certain advantage in forces and resources.
"The enemy also attacks across the entire front line, and in some directions, they have tactical successes. However, there has been a dynamic change in the situation recently," Voloshyn added.
Meanwhile, the Russian army does not cease attempts to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces using various types of weapons - artillery, tanks, drones.
"In recent days, the enemy has also been actively using aviation to carry out missile and bomb strikes," the spokesperson stated.
Main goal of Russian army
Overall, the Russian army do not abandon their main goal - to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Moreover, according to Lieutenant General Olexandr Pavliuk, commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in an interview with The Times, he mentioned that in the event of success in capturing Donbas, the occupiers intend to seize the Zaporizhzhia region.
