Frontline situation as of July 27: latest report from General Staff

Over the past 24 hours, there have been 28 military clashes on the frontlines, during which the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 11 Russian artillery positions, 2 command centers, 1 ammunition depot, and 1 area where enemy personnel were concentrated, reported the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Enemy attacks
Last night, the Russian Federation launched another strike on Ukraine using Iranian-made Shahed drones. The details of the consequences of this terrorist attack are currently being clarified.
Throughout the day, on July 26, the enemy carried out 49 missile and 37 aviation strikes and conducted more than 63 bombardments using rocket artillery on the positions of our troops and civilian settlements. Regrettably, there have been civilian casualties and residential buildings damaged.
The likelihood of missile and aviation strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains very high.
Frontline situation
On the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains relatively stable without significant changes.
On the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the Russians maintain military presence. They shelled over 25 settlements with mortars and artillery, including Huta Studenetska, Semenivka, and Yasna Poliana in the Chernihiv region; Vilna Sloboda, Popivka, Stepne, Basyvka, Mohrytsia, and Pokrovka in the Sumy region; and Veterynarne, Okhrymivka, Strilecha, Hlyboke, and Kolodyazne in the Kharkiv region.
On the Kupiansk direction, the enemy's attempts to advance south of Novoselivka in the Luhansk region were unsuccessful. They hit Dvorichna, Zapadne, Fiholivka, Tabaiivka, Topoli, and Podoly in the Kharkiv region with artillery and mortar fire.
On the Lyman direction, the enemy's attempts to advance south of Dibrova in the Luhansk region were also unsuccessful. Settlements of Nevske, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Torske, Verkhniokamianka, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.
On the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks in areas north of Kromove, east of Druzhba, and north of Klishchiivka. However, the enemy conducted an airstrike in the area of Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region. Over 15 settlements were hit with Russian artillery fire, including Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Ivanivske, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, and Pivnichne in the Donetsk region.
On the Avdiivka direction, under intense enemy aviation and artillery fire, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled Russian forces' attacks in the vicinity of Avdiivka city. Meanwhile, the enemy shelled over 10 settlements, including Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, and Sieverne in the Donetsk region.
On the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back Russian troops' advancement in the area of Mariinka city. The enemy conducted an airstrike near Krasnohorivka. Artillery fire hit settlements of Kurakhivka, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, and Pobeda in the Donetsk region.
On the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy attempted to regain lost positions in the area of Staromykhailivka in the Donetsk region, but they did not succeed. Russian aviation strikes hit the areas of Rivnopole, Blahodatne, and Staromaiorske. Over 15 settlements, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Velyka Novosilka, Storozhove, and Blahodatne in the Donetsk region, were shelled.
On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy concentrates its efforts on preventing further advancement of Ukrainian forces. They conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Novodanylivka, Mali Tokmachky, Orikhove, and Pyatykhatky in the Zaporizhzhia region and Antonivka in the Kherson region.
Over 35 settlements, including Malynivka, Huliaipole, Stepove, Lobkove, Levadne, and Kamianske in the Zaporizhia region; Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Dudchany, Beryslav, Kozatske, Molodizhne, Antonivka, Komyshany, Kizomys, Stanislav in the Kherson region; and Ivanivka in the Mykolaiv region, were subjected to artillery fire.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operations on the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidating their positions and inflicting effective fire on the enemy.

During the past day, the Ukrainian defense aviation conducted 11 strikes on Russian personnel, weaponry, and military equipment concentration areas and 2 strikes on their anti-aircraft missile complexes.
