In autumn, you are especially drawn to familiar series, where you already know the characters, remember your favorite scenes, and know you won’t be disappointed. That’s why old cult shows make such a strong comeback this season — they work almost like a time machine.

Charmed
The story of the three Halliwell sisters, who discover that they come from a family of powerful witches, has long become a classic of television fantasy. The atmospheric house in San Francisco, the Book of Shadows, spells and the magical vibe of the early 2000s feel especially warm now
Prue, Piper and Phoebe try to balance ordinary life with fighting demons, magical creatures and their own family problems. Later, Paige joins the story, but the show’s main “trick” remains unchanged: it is a mix of magic, sisterhood, romance and the comfort of home.
Buffy
Buffy Summers is an ordinary schoolgirl, but only at first glance. In reality, she is chosen to fight vampires, demons and other creatures that regularly appear in Sunnydale.
The series begins almost like a teen supernatural story, but gradually becomes much deeper. It explores growing up, loss, friendship, complicated relationships, and the choice between a normal life and responsibility. In autumn, it feels especially fitting thanks to its dark scenes, old-school setting, library and the gothic teen mood of the late 1990s.
Gossip Girl
Manhattan, private schools, designer dresses, parties, schemes, and an anonymous Gossip Girl who knows more about the characters than they would ever want to reveal. What could be better for fall?
The story centers on Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, Chuck Bass, Nate Archibald, and Dan Humphrey. Their romances, betrayals, arguments, and reconciliations are worth rewatching even when you already remember most of the plot twists. And, of course, there is autumn in New York — coats, scarves, school uniforms and walks through Central Park are another reason to return to the series right now.
Desperate Housewives
At first glance, Wisteria Lane seems like the perfect American street with beautiful houses, manicured lawns and successful families. In reality, however, every door hides secrets, betrayals, crimes and very complicated relationships.
The story revolves around the lives of Susan, Lynette, Bree, and Gabrielle, and easily shifts from comedy to drama and mystery. You can turn the series on “in the background,” only to suddenly realize that it’s already 3 a.m. and you need to know what happens next.
The Vampire Diaries
Mystic Falls: two vampire brothers, Elena Gilbert, and an endless stream of supernatural problems await us here. The series begins as a romantic drama but quickly brings in witches, werewolves, ancient vampires, family curses, and stories that span generations.
Autumn feels like a natural setting for “The Vampire Diaries.” There is fog, forests, old mansions, parties, school hallways, and the constant feeling that something mysterious is happening somewhere nearby.
That ’70s Show
This series is not about magic or vampires, but it has another superpower. The story offers an absolute sense of comfort. A group of teenagers spends time in Eric Forman’s basement, argues, falls in love, fights with their parents, listens to music, and simply tries to figure out what to do with their lives.
There are plenty of simple everyday scenes, familiar humor, and an atmosphere that makes the series incredibly comforting. It is also interesting to see young Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher again, long before their on-screen romance was followed by a real-life relationship.
House
Gregory House is a brilliant expert who can solve the most difficult medical cases, while regularly driving his colleagues and patients crazy.
Each episode revolves around a new mysterious diagnosis, but over time, House’s relationships with Wilson, Cuddy and his team become just as important. It is a great series to rewatch. Even if you remember the main storylines, individual medical cases are easy to forget. And House’s familiar sarcasm still works even years later.
Supernatural
Dean and Sam Winchester travel across America in a black Chevrolet Impala, hunting ghosts, demons, vampires and other creatures while also trying to save each other from yet another disaster.
