French Prime Minister names condition for cutting military aid to Ukraine
French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal has not ruled out the possibility of reducing military aid to Ukraine if the far-right wins the parliamentary elections, citing BFM TV.
"For the far-right, the next step is absolutely clear: it will be the blocking of the European Union. This is already clear. Jordan Bardella (the head of the far-right party) proposes to finance his unrealistic promises, particularly by reducing our contribution to Europe," he said.
According to the Prime Minister, this would mark the beginning of Frexit.
"The next step after this, if the National Rally implements it, will be the end of significant support for Ukraine," he said.
Attal added that the day before, Bardella said that if he were elected Prime Minister, Ukraine would no longer receive long-range missiles.
"In the case of Jordan Bardella, Ukraine will no longer be able to carry out some of the defensive actions it is currently conducting against Russia. With the National Rally, the next day there would be a risk of subordination to Russia, which would increase its manipulation, interference, and destabilization," he said.
