French parliamentary elections: First round results announced
The National Rally has won the first round of parliamentary elections in France. President Emmanuel Macron's political party is currently in third place, according to BFM TV.
According to the election results:
- The National Rally (RN) and its allies: 33.14% (255-295 potential seats);
- Popular Front (NFP): 27.99% (120 to 140 potential seats);
- Pro-Presidential Bloc (ENS) - 20.04% (90 to 125 potential seats);
- Republicans / UDI / Left: 10.74 percent (35 to 45 potential seats)

According to France 24, the second round of elections will be held on 7 July. It will involve all candidates who received the votes of at least 12.5% of registered voters in the first round.

At the same time, if none of the candidates had gained the required 12.5%, only the top two political parties would have competed in the second round.
Candidates can also withdraw between the first and second rounds. This is usually done to transfer their votes to another political party.
Elections in France
After the European Parliament elections and the subsequent failure of the president's party, Macron dissolved the French National Assembly and announced early parliamentary elections. At the same time, the National Rally party won the European elections. The formal leader of the party is pro-Russian Marine Le Pen.
