Five deputies from different political groups in France sent a letter to the country's Minister of Defense, Sébastien Lecornu. They urged him to send military instructors to Ukraine, deputy Frédéric Petit reports.

"The brutality of the fighting and the increasing Russian pressure on Donbas forces us to believe that the training of the army, which took place in France and Poland, should now continue on Ukrainian soil," the deputy stated.

Petit added that French troops in Ukraine should not fight against the Russian army but should focus on training Ukrainian soldiers who are defending their territorial integrity.

The French deputies declared that the response to Russia's involvement of thousands of North Korean soldiers should be an increase in direct support for Ukraine.

"As the prospects for possible negotiations become clearer, France and European countries must show no signs of weakness and must not allow their behavior to be dictated by red lines drawn by the Kremlin," Petit emphasized.

French support for Ukraine

France has provided military aid to Ukraine, including artillery systems, armored vehicles, shells, missiles, air defense systems, and other weaponry.

Moreover, Paris supports Ukraine politically and advocates for continued integration into the EU and NATO.

French President Emmanuel Macron was the first to propose sending military instructors to Ukraine for training. However, no decision has been made on this matter yet.
