At the Consulate General of Ukraine in Lublin, the first volunteers signed a contract to serve in the Ukrainian Legion. After the ceremony, they will go to the training ground of the Armed Forces of Poland, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The basic training of volunteers will last 35 days. After that, they will be able to continue their training in their chosen specialties at NATO bases in Europe.

“The training will be conducted under the guidance of Polish instructors using modern weapons. Also, Ukrainian Armed Forces commanders with combat experience will join the exercises,” the Ukrainian Defense Ministry adds.

Ukrainian Legion

The Ukrainian Legion in Poland is a volunteer organization created for Ukrainians who are outside of Ukraine, in particular in Poland, and want to defend Ukraine in a full-scale Russian war. The Legion provides an opportunity for Ukrainian citizens living abroad to join training and preparation in order to help defend Ukraine.

In early October, recruitment to the Ukrainian Legion was opened in Lublin. The recruitment center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time without breaks.
