However, the large-scale fires in the United States have changed the situation, and so the organizers are considering whether to hold the event against the backdrop of all that is happening. Dozens of people have already been reported dead and thousands of people have been left homeless as a result of the natural disaster.

"The board’s main concern at this time is to not look like they are celebrating while many Los Angelenos are dealing with heartbreak and unimaginable loss. And certainly, even if the fires went out in the next week, the reality is that the city is still hurting," the insider explained to the source.

The final decision on whether the Oscars 2025 will be held is still unknown. But if the ceremony does take place, there will be no dinner party and no expensive gifts for the winners.

In addition, the announcement of the film award nominees has already been canceled twice. Their names are scheduled to be announced on January 23. By the way, this is the first time in the history of the Oscars that the event has been threatened with cancellation.

The ceremony has been held annually for the past 96 years. But in the past, as you know, this grand event was postponed twice: after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968 and because of the 1938 Los Angeles flood, which became historic at the time.

The 97th Academy Awards is scheduled for March 2 this year and will take place in Los Angeles, California.
