First look at Dumbledore in new Harry Potter series

Filming of the HBO series based on the "Harry Potter" books is in full swing. This time, the first images of the new Dumbledore, played by 79-year-old John Lithgow, have appeared online.
What Dumbledore will be like
In the photos, the actor wears a long blue robe, a vest, and velvet trousers. The look is completed with long white hair, a beard, and glasses.
Filming took place on a sandy shore, where the actor performed scenes walking through shallow water as if casting spells. In one shot, he is seen holding his side.

During breaks, Lithgow actively interacted with the crew and rehearsed his lines. According to eyewitnesses, his acting was serious and focused.
Earlier, John admitted that the offer to play the legendary wizard came as a surprise.
"It was not an easy decision because it's going to define me for the last chapter of my life, I'm afraid. But I'm very excited. Some wonderful people are turning their attention back to Harry Potter. That's why it's been such a hard decision. I'll be about 87 years old at the wrap party, but I've said yes," he shared.

In the original films, Dumbledore was played by Irish actor Richard Harris, who passed away after the second film, and by Michael Gambon, who died in September 2023.
In the "Fantastic Beasts" prequels, the young Professor Albus was portrayed by Jude Law.
What is known about Harry Potter series
The first season will cover the first book by J.K. Rowling, who is also involved in the project as an executive producer. The creators promise to explore the stories of beloved characters in more depth.
The cast of the new "Harry Potter" has been revealed gradually since April this year. Some names, including Voldemort, have not yet been disclosed.
The main trio is played by Dominic MacLoughlin (Harry), Arabella Stenton (Hermione), and Alastair Stout (Ron). Aunt Petunia will be played by Bel Powley, Dudley by Amos Kitson, and Uncle Vernon by Daniel Rigby.
We have already reported on what Hagrid will be like in the new "Harry Potter." He is played by British actor Nick Frost.
The series will be running for at least ten years. Each season will cover one book, with the premiere scheduled for 2027.
