On June 8, the first beach opened in Odesa, specifically Caletȯn, one of 20 locations planned to be opened in the region, according to the Telegram of Oleh Kiper, the Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

"We have signed a joint order with the commander of the Odesa operational-strategic group regarding public access to the sea. Starting today, the first open area is the Caletȯn beach in Odesa," he said.

According to the Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, the list of beaches will be supplemented as inspections progress.

"We plan to open approximately 20 beaches in Odesa and the surrounding area, as well as one lagoon in the Izmail district," Kiper noted.

Important notice

During air alerts, upon discovering suspicious objects, and during storms with winds exceeding two points, beach access is prohibited.

Opening of beaches in Odesa and the region

In contrast to 2023, when only six beaches in Odesa were opened in August, this year the bathing season started earlier with relaxation allowed at 20 locations. Each location undergoes thorough inspection before opening.

It's worth noting that recreational activities are not limited to beaches; rivers and lakes are also viable options. However, due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, choosing these locations requires extra caution.
