First Abrams tanks to arrive in Ukraine next week - Biden
The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has announced that the first Abrams tanks will arrive in Ukraine next week, according to the White House.
"The first Abrams tanks will arrive in Ukraine next week," Biden said during an extended bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House.
The American leader emphasized that the United States remains committed to providing support to Ukraine's efforts to defend against Russian aggression.
American Abrams tanks for Ukraine
The United States has pledged to provide Ukraine with 31 Abrams tanks. On September 21, a Pentagon spokesperson stated that the Abrams tanks will be delivered to Ukraine in the coming days and weeks.
New military aid package for Ukraine from the United States
President Joe Biden announced the allocation of a new military aid package to Ukraine in the amount of $325 million. According to Blinken, the military aid package includes additional anti-aircraft munitions to help strengthen Ukraine's air defense against Russian airstrikes, both now and during the winter months.
