Explosions were heard near the Kirovskoye airfield in Crimea during the night of June 28. Fires also broke out there, according to the Telegram channel Crimean Wind.

According to Crimean Wind, between 2:50 and 3:02 a.m., 5–6 explosions occurred in the area of the Kirovskoye airfield. Prior to that, residents reported hearing the sounds of drones flying overhead.

The Telegram channel also published videos of the explosions. Preliminary reports suggest it was the detonation of ammunition at the airfield.

NASA satellites recorded large fires at the Kirovskoye airfield in Crimea.

"Most likely, warehouses and air defense systems were hit. One of the aircraft parking places was also struck, a helicopter is seen burning, and fuel tanks for Su fighter jets were exploding," the report said.

Partisans had previously reported that Russian forces were relocating their aircraft to inactive airfields in occupied Crimea.

According to the partisan movement ATESH, Russian forces are restoring the Zavodskoye airfield in occupied Simferopol, as well as the Kirovskoye airfield near Feodosia and Bagerovo near Kerch.
