Fire recorded in Kursk region after Russians' counterattack: New satellite evidence
The first satellite images have appeared following the Russian forces' counterattack in the Kursk region. A fire has been recorded near one of the new bridges by the Seym River, Radio Liberty reports.
The agency showed satellite images of the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region, where the Russians recently launched offensive actions. Two new pontoon bridges have appeared on the left bank of the Seym River.
The images show that between September 7 and 14, Russian military forces built a new pontoon crossing in the village of Zvannoye and restored another one at its former location, between the villages of Zvannoye and Glushkovo.
A satellite image from September 14, about 1.5 kilometers south of the restored crossing, shows traces of a large fire.
Fighting in the Kursk region
Since August 6, Ukraine's Defense Forces have been conducting an offensive operation in the Kursk region. A military commandant's office has been established in the region.
Ukraine controls over 100 settlements. As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operation in the Kursk region has mitigated the threat to Ukraine's northern regions.
Recently, it became known that Russian forces are conducting counterattacks in the Kursk region of Russia. According to Zelenskyy, the operation in the Kursk region is proceeding according to plan.
