Fire breaks out in Kryvyi Rih high-rise, casualties reported

A fire broke out in a high-rise building in Kryvyi Rih's Pokrovskyi district on the night of February 9. Several people were injured, according to the State Emergency Service (SES) in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
"At 02:03, the State Emergency Service received a report of a fire on Mykola Svitalsky Street in the Pokrovskyi district of Kryvyi Rih," the statement said.
Rescuers who arrived at the scene found that the fire had started in an apartment on the third floor of a nine-story building, where household items were burning over an area of 10 square meters.
"During the firefighting operation, rescuers saved a child and evacuated 13 people to safety. As a result of the fire, two women and a man were injured," the SES added.

At 03:26, the firefighters extinguished the blaze. A total of 16 rescuers and 4 fire rescue vehicles from the Main Department of the State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region were involved in the firefighting operation.
As reported, on February 8, smoke was detected at the St. Michael’s Monastery Church in Kyiv. Rescuers were working at the scene.
Additionally, on February 6, a fire occurred at a waste management facility in the village of Fastovets in the Kyiv region. The firefighting operation lasted for at least four hours.
