A severe fire broke out at a hotel in the Turkish ski resort of Kartalkaya. According to the latest reports, 66 people are reported to have died, CNN Turk informs, citing the Turkish Minister of the Interior, Ali Yerlikaya.

"We declare that we have lost 66 lives so far. We express our condolences to the families of our citizens who have died. I wish our citizens who are receiving treatment a speedy recovery," Yerlikaya stated.

The Turkish Minister of the Interior specified that the hotel where the fire occurred has 12 floors. At the time of the fire, 238 guests were registered in the hotel. The fire has been extinguished, but rescue operations continue.

In addition, the Turkish Minister of Health, Kemal Memişoğlu, clarified that 51 people were injured in the incident. 17 of them were sent for outpatient treatment, and one is in critical condition.

As reported earlier, on January 21, a fire broke out at a hotel in the Turkish ski resort of Kartalkaya.

The fire started around 3 a.m. local time (2 a.m. Kyiv time). According to the latest official information, 10 deaths and 32 injuries were confirmed.
